Lewiston, MAINE – Military veteran Jared Golden, Democratic candidate for Maine’s 2nd District, announced today he raised more than $560,000 in the second quarter of 2018. Since announcing his candidacy for Maine’s 2nd District late last year, Golden has raised nearly $1.2 million from over 10,000 donors.
“I’m proud to make my campaign about the people of Maine’s 2nd District, and to stand up for affordable healthcare, stronger unions, higher wages, protecting Medicare, and fighting for Maine’s veterans,” said Assistant House Majority Leader Jared Golden, Democratic candidate for Maine’s 2nd District. “Congressman Bruce Poliquin has broken his promise to our community by voting to take healthcare away from 100,000 Mainers, adding over $1 trillion to our nation’s debt, and threatening Social Security and Medicare to pay for it.
Despite being outspent four-to-one, Golden decisively won his competitive June 12 primary with 54% of the vote.
